Glacier Bay Adventure cruise

UnCruise Adventurers: No one does Alaska better. Forget viewing a glacier from a crowded deck—we take you to shore in a skiff and bushwhack up to its towering face.

Our itineraries truly take you into the heart of the Last Frontier. Enjoy kayaking, hiking, bushwhacking, paddle boarding, and more. You’ll have the chance to spot amazing wildlife, including bears, moose, sea otters, humpback whales, and orcas. Each morning, our guides explore the area to ensure the activities offered provide the best possible adventure

This itinerary is for the glacier lover and all the scenery that goes with it. You’ll spend two days in Glacier Bay National Park, getting up close to many of the park’s glaciers, as well as exploring areas rarely visited by others. In addition, you’ll visit the Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness area to see the Sawyer Glaciers—two other tidewater glaciers in Southeast Alaska—located at the end of one of the area’s most beautiful fjords. The waters you travel are also home to marine mammals like whales, sea lions, and sea otters, and you’ll be adventuring in areas where bears, eagles, and other wildlife can be found.

Speaker:  As you enjoy the adventure,  Dr’s Catriona MacPhail and Michael Lappin will present a practical discussion on the management of common clinical problems.

Seminar registration is $965.00 for the 12 CE hrs.

Here are a few details about the Wilderness Adventurer:

Ready for anything, the unassuming 60-guest Wilderness Adventurer is fully equipped and designed for action, plus comfort. She’s intent on delivering adventure aboard as well as in the water—including ample room on deck for relaxing or providing all the necessary views for you to capture wildlife.

The unassuming Wilderness Adventurer has style and all the amenities needed to get the job done. It’s just as comfortable moseying into the lounge for a pint as it is leaping from the fantail for a “polar plunge” or sketching a landscape from the sundeck. Yep. She lives up to her name. The mantra on board could be: work hard, play hard, relax, repeat. The ship’s easy-going, fun-making energy inspires fierce loyalty from her crew and guests alike.

Three accessible decks are fully equipped for comfort and action. The sun deck has an on-deck hot tub and fitness equipment; the observation deck allows for over-the-top viewing from the bow; and the EZ Dock launch platform on the main deck makes getting in the water a cinch.

The Lounge has a large flat-screen TV featuring closed-circuit channels which include a GPS map of the location of the ship and an under-bow camera. The lounge also has a limited library, filled with wildlife encyclopedias and binoculars are available for wildlife-spotting.

The Dining Room features open seating, buffet-style and plated meals at set times. Unlimited beverages. alcoholic and non, are included in the price of the cruise. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free options are always available, and dietary restrictions are happily accommodated if noted in advance.

Our adventure partners at Bio Bio are again running the program- please visit their web site at BBXrafting.com  for all details and for any questions and to reserve your cabin.

Good to Know Before You Go

Registration is simple. Browse upcoming seminars using the search on our homepage, then click through to the seminar page and complete registration online. You will receive an email confirmation once your registration is complete, and a separate email confirming your payment. Please keep both for your records. You can also call our office at 1-800-487-5650 to register by phone.

IVS holds group space at each seminar venue and handles hotel bookings on your behalf. You can book accommodations at the same time as your seminar registration or separately — whichever you prefer.

On your selected seminar’s page, click the Accommodations tab and scroll down to the Book Accommodations button. Please note: if you need a room outside the standard seminar dates, availability will need to be confirmed with the hotel. Hotel bookings made through our site are not automatic and require some processing time. Once confirmed, you will receive a hotel confirmation letter from IVS by email. All hotels require a credit card to guarantee your booking, and cut-off dates apply — early registration is always advised. Our team is available at 1-800-487-5650, Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm PST.

10% of the registration fee is non-refundable. If you cancel more than 30 days before the seminar start date, you may choose a refund of the remaining 90% or a Future Transfer Credit (FTC). If you cancel within 30 days, only a Future Transfer Credit is issued. The FTC can be applied to any future IVS seminar within 2 years of your cancellation date; it is forfeited if not used within that window. To cancel, you must contact our office and receive email confirmation of your cancellation before the seminar begins. Cancellations requested after the seminar has started, or without email confirmation on file, will forfeit the full registration fee. Please also note that cancellations will remove any Loyalty Program points earned from that registration.

IVS specializes in small group seminars — usually fewer than 80 people per seminar. Most veterinarians appreciate the smaller setting, as it allows for more interaction with speakers and other participants and gives everyone a chance to get their questions answered.

International Veterinary Seminars is an AAVSB RACE-approved provider of CE, which is accepted by all state boards throughout the US and Canada. We are provider #13 and are also an approved provider in New York State. Please contact your state board or our office with any questions. For more information, visit the AAVSB RACE program website.
