In this all new seminar, Dr’s deLaforcade and Hackett will discuss handling those walk-in, same-day cases that challenge practitioners with an already busy schedule. We will discuss strategies we use to manage high case-load, telephone triage and how we differentiate urgent care vs emergent cases. Luxurious guest rooms at this coastal Maine hotel
All of our guest hotel rooms are lavishly decorated with the finest furniture and amenities. Choose from King and double bedrooms, each with a semi-firm mattress, plush feather pillows and comforter.
Each beautifully decorated room includes a full marble bathroom with beautifully accented tile floors and an adjustable high pressure massaging shower head for your comfort. Furnished with a wall mounted hairdryer and second telephone for your convenience. Premium guest rooms also feature a comfortable pullout sleeper sofa. The large color televisions are stylishly set within a beautifully crafted and naturally wood stained entertainment center/dresser. Extensive selections of cable channels are included for your pleasure.
If your stay is business related, you’ll appreciate each room’s work area that includes a desk, chair, telephone and wireless Internet. Other convenient amenities include a coffee maker, iron and ironing board.
Most Deluxe guest rooms feature semi-private balconies that offer spectacular Harbor, Island or Sunset views. Optional upgrades include our beautiful gas-burning fireplace and luxurious Jacuzzi rooms.
- Resort fee of $15 (Reduced from $35.00) per room, per day, plus tax. The resort fee entitles you to complimentary parking, wireless internet, newspaper in the lobby each morning, access to three tennis courts, the fitness center and pool at the Harborside Hotel, lap pool and hot tub at the Pool house, hot tub at the Bar Harbor Club, use of deck chairs, umbrellas and towels.
Things To Do
Bar Harbor is adjacent to Acadia National Park, home to 1,532-foot Mount Cadillac. Its summit is the first spot in the United States where the sunrise can be seen. Acadia’s stunning mountains, lakes, and sea cliffs can be viewed from a number of vantage points-an auto loop, carriage roads closed to car traffic, and 125 miles of trails exclusively for hiking. The Bar Harbor area possesses a great selection of family activities, including a family nature camp, an oceanarium, a zoo, and a lumberjack show. The recently expanded Abbe Museum showcases the Wabenaki Indians, some of Maine’s earliest residents. Visitors can also indulge in rock climbing, sailing, paddling, brewery tours, boat excursions, and golf. For shoppers, Bar Harbor features a number of top-notch boutiques, many of which showcase the works of Maine artists and sculptors.
Located on Mount Desert Island, home of the spectacular Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor is a historic tourist town, offering salty sea air, soft sandy beaches, granite cliffs and a slew of activities for the outdoor enthusiast. A 19th century resort for the wealthy, the town has several mansions, old majestic hotels and other vestiges of its heyday. Stop by the Hulls Cove Visitor Center to stock up on information about Acadia National Park. Then pick from myriad activities: swimming, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, climbing mountains, bird or whale watching, biking and horseback riding. If kayaking is your sport, or you’re itching to learn, Coastal Kayaking Tours offers trips for beginner to expert paddlers. Golfers can tee off at the scenic Kebo Golf Club, one of the oldest courses in the U.S. For a unique adventure, take a boat excursion with Diver Ed, where you can watch Ed diving 50 feet below on the deck monitor and then learn about the starfish, sea urchins and other sea creatures he retrieves and then returns to their home.
The First National Park East of the Mississippi River
People have been drawn to the rugged coast of Maine throughout history. Awed by its beauty and diversity, early 20th-century visionaries donated the land that became Acadia National Park. The park is home to many plants and animals, and the tallest mountain on the U.S. Atlantic coast. Today visitors come to Acadia to hike granite peaks, bike historic carriage roads, or relax and enjoy the scenery.

Registration is simple. Browse upcoming seminars using the search on our homepage, then click through to the seminar page and complete registration online. You will receive an email confirmation once your registration is complete, and a separate email confirming your payment. Please keep both for your records. You can also call our office at 1-800-487-5650 to register by phone.
IVS holds group space at each seminar venue and handles hotel bookings on your behalf. You can book accommodations at the same time as your seminar registration or separately — whichever you prefer.
On your selected seminar’s page, click the Accommodations tab and scroll down to the Book Accommodations button. Please note: if you need a room outside the standard seminar dates, availability will need to be confirmed with the hotel. Hotel bookings made through our site are not automatic and require some processing time. Once confirmed, you will receive a hotel confirmation letter from IVS by email. All hotels require a credit card to guarantee your booking, and cut-off dates apply — early registration is always advised. Our team is available at 1-800-487-5650, Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm PST.
10% of the registration fee is non-refundable. If you cancel more than 30 days before the seminar start date, you may choose a refund of the remaining 90% or a Future Transfer Credit (FTC). If you cancel within 30 days, only a Future Transfer Credit is issued. The FTC can be applied to any future IVS seminar within 2 years of your cancellation date; it is forfeited if not used within that window. To cancel, you must contact our office and receive email confirmation of your cancellation before the seminar begins. Cancellations requested after the seminar has started, or without email confirmation on file, will forfeit the full registration fee. Please also note that cancellations will remove any Loyalty Program points earned from that registration.
IVS specializes in small group seminars — usually fewer than 80 people per seminar. Most veterinarians appreciate the smaller setting, as it allows for more interaction with speakers and other participants and gives everyone a chance to get their questions answered.
International Veterinary Seminars is an AAVSB RACE-approved provider of CE, which is accepted by all state boards throughout the US and Canada.
