This seminar has been designed to present the most current information on the diagnosis and treatment of many cardiovascular and respiratory diseases that you are commonly asked to manage in your patients. The main emphasis of the seminars will be to give you practical information that you can readily utilize in your practice- along with providing information on the current treatments being offered at the referral centers. Drs. Johnson, Pollard & Stern are internationally recognized experts in their fields and lecture extensively throughout the world. All 3 speakers work at very busy clinical practices. Because of their involvement with busy veterinary centers, these personable speakers approach clinical problems very practically.Physical examination and efficient diagnostic testing in animals with respiratory signs: Have you ever wondered where those abnormal sounds are coming from? Dr. Johnson will focus on localizing and identifying abnormalities in the respiratory exam to allow rational diagnostic testing. Updates on brachycephalic syndrome and laryngeal disorders will also be discussed.

- Thoracic radiology in the dog with respiratory distress: heart or lungs
- Airway diseases in dogs and cats. Dr. Johnson will provide and update on management strategies for tracheal collapse, bronchomalacia, asthma and bronchitis that you can put to immediate use in your practice. Whether or not you have access to advanced diagnostic testing, this session will provide you with tips to improve client expectations when the animal suffers from chronic cough.
- Thoracic radiology in the cat with respiratory distress: heart or lung?
- Feline HCM – in the thick of it
- Advanced imaging in dyspneic patients: how, when and why
- Diet & Dilated Cardiomyopathy (an update on diagnosis and management of DCM)
- CHF management strategies
- Pneumonias in dogs and cats. Dr. Johnson is going to provide insight into the various clinical manifestations of parenchymal diseases of dogs and cats. Identification of underlying diseases will be a critical part of the discussion. Investigations of emerging pathogens in infectious lower respiratory disease will be presented and new antimicrobial guidelines related to treatment of pneumonia will be reviewed.

Deposits:
A deposit equal to one night’s stay including tax and service fees is required at the time of booking with the remaining balance due at check-out.
Cancellations:
If you cancel within 60 days of your scheduled arrival, you will forfeit the initial deposit of one nights room and tax and resort fee. If your reservation is canceled or modified, including room type change to an accommodation type at a lower rate, within thirty (30) days prior to arrival, a cancellation fee will be assessed equal to the room rate, tax & service fee per night that is cancelled.

Right outside Red Mountain Resort’s back door, a world of outdoor adventures awaits. Red and white Navajo sandstone capped by an overlay of black lava rock makes hiking, biking and photography in our local State and National parks an experience for the senses. The parks are an amazing display of desert animal life, unique botanicals and dynamic rock formations.
