Dr Fiona Meyers graduated as a veterinarian from the University of Queensland in 1996. After graduation, she worked in small animal practice in the United Kingdom and Australia for 2 years before undertaking a PhD at the University of Queensland. In 2001 she became a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (Small Animal Medicine), and worked as a small animal medicine clinician in the University of Queensland Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
In 2003, she began a 3 year residency program in all-species cardiology at the University of California, Davis and passed the board examinations to become a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology) in 2006.
Fiona completed an externship during 2006 at the paediatric cardiology facilty of Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.
She returned to Australia in 2007 where she now divides her time between the University of Queensland and Veterinary Specialist Services, where she pursues her passion of helping pets with heart disease.
Veterinary Specialist Services proudly supports the Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors, particularly the treatment, care and research of the Australian Koala Community.
